Terminator Genisys

Well what can be said about Terminator Genisys? Well for a start its a game that deserves a lot more play time than I have seen it get in recent months, secondly its an Alessio Calvatore game published by River Horse.

The desperate mission to protect Sarah Connor may be well documented, but the War against the Machines has it’s own heroes. Tell their tales with the Terminator Genisys Miniatures game!

Lead a resistance force of Humanity’s last and most stubborn rebels or a cadre of remorseless killing machines to vie for control of the world!

Why well for a start its the only game I can think of that features Arnold Schwarzenegge so as he now features on the tabletop I wonder if it could be said that he has truely ‘done it all’. That’s just the start of it though, its a very nicely made and simple mechanic to the game that makes it very easy to pick up, the rules arent nearly as complicated as most other games, in fact I struggle to think off a game that has an easier set off basic rules, all you need to do is look up the weapon and see what type of dice it is you have to roll. Simple!

The ‘Fate’ dice gives a level of variety and unpredictability, that even other games sold buy Warlord can’t match.

The miniatures whilst not my favourite miniatures ever made are nicely made and easy to start using, although saying that the range does include one of my most wanted minis, the Spider Tank and one of the minis I am looking forward to which is the HK (Hunter Killer)

The range is still relatively new but with the depth of the terminator films not being overly great, a few characters, and a few machines that we know of, there is still plenty of scope for more miniatures, the bigger endo skeletons from Genisys would be nice.

This is a picture of the command set which is made from Resin, the set is pretty pricey coming in at £37 for 6 figures, but with the choice of 18 arms and 14 heads I hope that either River Horse start selling the bodies separate, or that the options will go on other figures, as there is going to be quite a few ‘parts’ left over.

For a look at the rules, I looked at the last year, and can be found here
