Elder Scrolls: Call to Arms Announced

Tamriel on the tabletop

If you are like me you probably played a lot of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim®, and I mean a lot. The biggest gripe I have had over the years of grinding my way through Draugr-filled tombs and ruined Dwemer cities is that I can’t really share the experience. Sure, I can tell someone how I did this or that, but they weren’t there. They weren’t immersed in the story with me so it just isn’t the same. Now, however, things have changed. The world of Tamriel just got a whole lot smaller! Say hello to Elder Scrolls: Call to Arms

Elder Scrolls: Call to Arms is based on the very successful tabletop mechanics behind Fallout: Wasteland Warfare. From Modiphius Entertainment, Call to Arms finally brings Tamriel to the tabletop. The game will feature fan-favourite characters such as Hadvar, Ralof, Mjoll the Lioness, Ulfric Stormclock, General Tullius and Lydia. All will be brought to life in 32mm high-quality resin. Each miniature will also feature a unique custom base.

In Call to Arms players will have the choice of teaming up, battling it out, or playing solo. All whilst managing the stamina and Magika resources their models bring to the table. Meanwhile, Modiphious’ AI system will control all manner of adversaries for the players’ heroes to contend with. Adventure through Dwemer Ruins, Nord Tombs, or battle it out over ruined outposts dotted across Tamriel. Complete quests and story driven scenario objectives to see your band grow over time. Build a settlement in a ruined fort or travel the countryside clearing out ruins and tombs as you would in the digital game.

“Stormcloaks, Imperials, dragons. Ain’t no matter to me what I kill. Let them come.”

(Guard, Whiterun)

Beyond Skyrim

Wave one of Call to Arms will focus on the civil war in Skyrim allowing you to raise your banner for the Imperial Legion or the Stormcloaks. First wave releases will include a two-player starter set for playable sessions of versus, co-op or solo. Reinforcement sets for both Imperials and Stormcloaks will be available, too. A single player Dragonborn set is also being released along with more races and characters from across the Elder Scrolls stories. These won’t just be from The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim® but also from The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion®, The Elder Scrolls Online® and more.

If you are as excited about Call to Arms as I am then you will surely want to know where you can check it out. Obviously, you can check back here at Tabletop Games UK where we’ll have all the updates as they arrive. We happen to be on Facebook, too. Furthermore, you can head over to the Modiphious website and buy your own beautiful 32mm high-quality resin launch promo ‘Dragonborn Triumphant’. This glorious model is based on the iconic cover art of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim®. Keep your eyes peeled as the miniature is being released in limited runs throughout the year.
